This is my first Blog post. My posts will be finance related, some geared towards benefits through the workplace, others more personal financial planning.

Finance doesn't have to be complicated; I'll work through a series of topics and frequently asked questions - Guiding you to Simplicity and Clarity in Your Financial Journey.

You may or may not know, I grew up in Jerusalem Israel. On family vacations, one of the spots we would go to is just south of Israel at the northern tip of Egypt, an area called the Sinai. We would stay at a resort (using the word resort loosely ha) called Basata. Basata is an Egyptian (Arabic) word that means simplicity. It is a beach resort on the Red Sea, this is the type of place you go to for the amenities or lack thereof - with bamboo cabanas and communal bathrooms. There was a main hut you could congregate; there they had a baker who would cook fresh pita bread throughout the day (this was probably my favorite part).

We would snorkel (the coral reef in the red sea is one of the best in the world), play football or beach volleyball. No computers or phones, Vacations there took you back to a Simpler Time.

After my time in Israel, when I turned 18, I came to the states for college where I met my wife (that's another story for another time) and joined the family business. Over the years, I learned that there's a lot of complexity in finance, but my goal is to help take you back to that Simpler Time - to help make sense of the chaos and provide solutions that are clear and straightforward.

Today, I am a Financial Advisor who specializes in wealth management for young professionals, retirement income planning, and helping companies with group benefits. After working at my family firm for over a decade, I'm now starting my own firm as an Independent Financial Advisor.

I know firsthand how busy life can get. Between baseball practices, gymnastics meets, church, and trying to keep up with everyone's schedules, it sometimes feels like there aren't enough hours in the day.

Here's what I've learned both personally and professionally—whether you're in the thick of raising a family or approaching retirement, having a solid financial plan becomes crucial. When you're juggling multiple responsibilities or transitioning into your next life chapter, the last thing you want to worry about is whether your financial future is secure.

As Independent Advisors, we work exclusively for you—not a bank or insurance company. This means we can design a holistic financial plan that maximizes growth potential, minimizes taxes, and protects what matters most to you and your family.

Just like that baker at Basata who had his simple process for creating perfect pita bread throughout the day, I've developed what I call my "Basata approach" to financial planning - a proven 5-step process that takes the guesswork out of your financial future:

  • Discovery: Understanding your complete financial picture and goals

  • Analysis: Exploring the four key pillars of your financial life

  • Strategy: Designing your personalized roadmap to financial confidence

  • Implementation: Taking coordinated action to move your plan forward

  • Ongoing Partnership: Continuously adapting as your life evolves

Whether you're concerned about having enough for retirement, want to optimize your investment portfolio, need strategic tax planning, or want to ensure your family is protected, we're here to guide you every step of the way.

In upcoming posts, I'll dive deeper into topics like organizing your finances with the "3-bucket approach," navigating workplace benefits, planning for major life transitions, and sharing lessons I've learned from unique experiences - from military service to training for an Ironman. Each post will focus on taking complex financial concepts and making them as simple and accessible as possible.
